    Parent/Child Water Fun

    6-18 months old-Parent/child class requires a parent in the water with the child. Children are accompanied in the water by parent or adult to work on water adjustment, blowing bubbles, holding breathe under water, kicking and floating as guided by instructor. Children not fully potty trained must wear swim diaper in the pool. 18 months-3 years old-This is a Parent/Child class requiring a parent in the water with the child. Children will build on the skills taught in our Parent/Child Water Fun class and work towards being more comfortable and confident in the water. Children not fully potty trained must wear a swim diaper in the pool.

    Swimming Preseason

    Pre-Season October 28 – November 8 ~ M-F ~ 3:30-4:30pm During these two weeks the coach will concentrate on competitive starts, turns and stroke techniques of the Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle.

    Swim Lessons

    Frog Ages 4 and older Work on supported floats, blowing bubbles, putting face in the water and more Course goal is to feel comfortable and enjoy the water No prior swimming lessons are required Octopus Ages 4 and older Swimmer will work on the basic fundamentals of the front and back floats and front and back crawl Course goal is to comfortably submerge face and have less instructor assistance Prerequisites: blowing bubbles, comfortable with the assisted front and back float (ears should be submerged) Sea Turtle Ages 4 and older Continually work on front and back crawl Course goal is to be able to float without assistance and independently swim a short distance of front and back crawl Prerequisites: must be comfortable doing assisted front float, with face submerged as well as assisted back float with head back and ear submerged. Jellyfish Ages 4 and older Continue to work on front and back crawl and instituting new methods to encourage learning Course goal is to swim 10 yards (1/4 pool length) using basic front and back crawl techniques Prerequisites: Independently float front face down in the water and back float with head back, independently swim short distance of front and back crawl Angelfish Ages 5 and older Emphasis on rotary breathing with the front crawl, technique with the back crawl skills Course goal is to continuously swim ½ length of the pool while demonstrating and understanding rotary breathing and the combination of alternating the arm/leg motion Prerequisites: Continuously swim ¼ length of the pool while demonstrating a basic understanding of alternating arm/leg motion of front and back crawl, face must be submerged in water for front crawl and head back and ears in for back crawl Stingray Ages 5 and older Continued work on rotary breathing, front and back crawl Course goal is to independently swim ¾ length of the pool while demonstrating an understanding of rotary breathing and alternating arm/leg motion Prerequisites: Continuously swim ½ length of the pool with front and back crawl and demonstrate understanding of basic rotary breathing while using alternating arm/leg motion Seal Ages 7 and older Introduce Butterfly and pump motion Introduction of diving Course goal is to continuously swim full length of pool using the correct technique for front and back crawl Sea Otter Ages 7 and older Continued work on butterfly with the introduction of correct breathing technique Course goal is to perfect front and back crawl Prerequisites: Continuously swim full length of pool using front and back crawl; demonstrate rotary breathing technique while using and alternation arm/leg motion Requirements are tested and must be met on the first day of class Shark Ages 8 and older Introduction of flip and open turns Participants are divided into groups to work on specific skills Course goal is to build endurance and perfect strokes and diving technique Prerequisites: Continuously swim two pool lengths (front and back crawl, one length each) and demonstrate correct rotary breathing technique; basic understanding of butterfly must be demonstrated Requirements are tested and must be met on the first day of lessons Dolphin Ages 8 and older Class is designed for individuals who are interested in: Joining a swim team Butterfly stroke is perfected Demonstrate an understanding of flips and open turns

    Swim Team

    Get Fit! Improve endurance! Build muscle, speed and strength! Improve swim strokes! Learn new strokes & flip turns! Opportunity to participate in competitive meets both home and away! Set records! Have fun! This co-ed swim Team will be open to all 7-12 grade students who can swim a minimum 25 yards without stopping or difficulty. Competitive swim meets are available to attend for an additional fee. Swimmers should come prepared with suits (girls one-piece or equivalent, boys trunks or jammers), goggles, towel. We will discuss training swim attire in more detail at our first practice.

    Swim Club

    This co-ed swim club will be open to all kids in grades 3-6 who can swim a minimum 25 yards without stopping or difficulty. We will focus on bringing individualized attention, training and encouragement to the young, aspiring swimmers. The clubs focus will be on the 4 main competitive strokes: backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle. There will be an option to join competitive swim meets for an additional fee; please talk to Jessi about pricing and dates. Swimmers should come prepared with suits (girls one-piece or equivalent, boys trunks or jammers), swim caps, goggles, towel. We will discuss training swim attire in more detail at our first practice. For this session we will finish with a fun meet on Tuesday, December 19.
