Introduction to Fresh Milled Flour and Bread Making

Discover the flavor, nutrition, and tradition of baking with freshly milled flour in this hands-on bread baking class. You’ll learn how to mill your own flour from whole grains and see how fresh flour transforms the taste, texture, and nutrition of homemade bread.

During class, we’ll walk through the entire process from selecting grains and milling flour to mixing, shaping, and baking beautiful homemade loaves. Along the way, you’ll learn tips for working with fresh-milled flour, hydration adjustments, and techniques that help create soft, flavorful bread.

Each participant will mill their own flour and bake two loaves of bread to take home. You’ll also leave with the knowledge and confidence to start baking with fresh-milled flour in your own kitchen.

In this class you will:

  • Learn how to mill flour from whole grains
  • Understand the benefits of baking with fresh-milled flour
  • Mix, shape, and bake homemade bread from scratch
  • Bake two loaves of bread to take home
  • Gain practical tips for successful fresh-milled baking at home
  • Learn what kind of mill and grain is best for you

Whether you’re new to bread baking or looking to deepen your skills, this class will give you a strong foundation for creating wholesome, delicious bread with freshly milled flour.
